A few weeks ago my mom gave us a jar of parsley with three caterpillars in it. Two weeks later they turned into cocoons.
Two weeks after that I returned home one day to discover that the butterflies had been born and were ready to take flight.
Letting them go and watching them flutter up, up, up to the big blue sky was quite miraculous. Reminded me a lot about “baby brother” who’s been living in his cocoon for close to 9 months now.
I wonder when he will take flight?
Happiness is a butterfly, which when pursued, is always just beyond your grasp, but which, if you will sit down quietly, may alight upon you. -Nathaniel Hawthorne
I love this quote and I will use it as my reminder that now, more than ever before, is the time to slow down, to be quiet, and to be present for the transformations taking place inside and all around me.
Your Personal Reflection: What is it in you that is ready to take flight?
